Delphi Academy Kindergarten and First Grade students create a big check to symbolize the school’s quick call to action for the Haitian relief effort.
The students at Delphi Academy in Milton raised over $2500.00 for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Delphi teachers, Amanda Harris from Braintree and Adrian Swete from Abington, rallied up the students and organized a school-wide coin drive. “So many of our students have family in Haiti. When we proposed a fund raiser the students immediately went to work,” says Ms. Swete. Over $2000 in coins were collected in a two week period.
Ms. Harris and Ms. Swete capped off the coin drive with a Friday afternoon bake sale raising another $500. All the proceeds of this fundraiser went to the American Red Cross.
